We are currently seeking a Development Officer to join our team. This role involves supporting us to focus on increasing opportunities to embed physical activity advice and guidance into healthcare settings and amongst healthcare professionals, to both increase activity levels and improve the health and wellbeing of our residents. The successful candidate will support us to work with communities, organisations and partners to deliver our Physical Activity Framework and support our vision of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland: a place where physical activity is part of daily life, leading to people living healthier and happier lives.
This role will have a specific focus on (although not limited to):
- Developing a universal and targeted approach to raise physical activity in low participating groups and settings
- Raise awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity to partners, settings and communities
- Supporting wider sector professionals and groups to embed physical activity into their settings/programmes/policies and have conversations about the benefits of physical activity
- Support the development and delivery of relevant local and national physical activity campaigns/programmes to reduce inactivity and increase participation
- Encouraging everyone to embed regular, informal physical activity opportunities into their daily lives
- Address the equality, diversity and inclusion challenges that are prevalent in physical activity provision
- Make a positive difference to the physical activity levels in our Places and Communities
Do you have health/fitness qualifications, a relevant degree, or significant healthcare experience? Have you got an understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion? Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? If so, we are looking to appoint a proactive, influential, and passionate candidate with these skills to join our team.
