Call for Competitor Registrations!

The Rotary District 1070 Disability Games will again be held in Leicestershire on Sunday 27th April 2025; the venue is Ratcliffe College – LE7 4SG.

The success of those games last year cemented it's position as one of the best community events in Rotary; helping to forge long lasting contact with organisations for disabled people in the East Midlands area.

The organisers are now ready to start receiving competitors' registrations.

Will your club or organisation consider bringing a group of disabled people to the Games? A host of sports are available for individuals to compete in. The individual sports involved include:

  • Archery
  • Boccia
  • Darts
  • New Age Kurling
  • Basketball Hoop Shooting
  • Cycling Challenge
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Weightlifting
  • Wheelchair Racing.

HOW TO REGISTER

Registration information including competitor entry forms, team managers' lists, event rules and junior consent forms can all be found on the Rotary website via the following link:

https://www.rotary-ribi.org/districts/page.php?PgID=942019&DistrictNo=1070

DEADLINE FOR RETURN OF FORMS: 4 March 2025

Please download the forms, complete details as required and return no later than 4th March.

Rotary welcomes entry from clubs of all sizes, from a couple of competitors or a larger group. Rotary use the term 'teams' quite loosely to cover each club or group of clubs bringing competitors. However, it's important to note that this isn't a team event; it is all about individual effort. Clubs are invited to circulate the Rotary flier to their prospective participants.

Please indicate as early as possible if you intend to bring a team, as this is helpful for event planning to have an early indication of potential competitor numbers.

WHAT AGES CAN COMPETE?

The Games are great fun for the Competitors, Carers, Rotarians, Interactors and everyone involved.

There are two age categories:

  • Junior (under 16 on day of event),
  • and Senior (16 plus on day of event),

There are also some events with separate male and female categories. Every competitor gets a medal and event winners will receive a trophy.

FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS

Lunch and bottles of water will be provided for competitors and carers. Further food and drink may be purchased on site throughout the day.
